It hasn’t been long since I’ve crossed the bridge from YA to NA. I remember the day clearly, I was deeply engrossed in a charming YA book, eyes fluttering at the innocent love weaved within its pages. And as I neared the end, the feeling of wonder turned into hunger for more.
I wanted more than declarations of love, sneaky little kisses, and the blacked out scenes. I wanted to see into those blacked out moment and relate more to the characters I was reading. I wasn’t 15 anymore. I was a young woman who had already, in some capacity, experienced those secret kisses and shy moments.
My first real exposure to NA was through Bully by Penelope Douglas. I became enraptured, those feelings of wonder returned in full force and I soon found myself daydreaming for my very own Jared. Needless to say, I opened my first Goodreads account and began to join groups to find more books like Bully [after I had read all the other books Penelope Douglas had written by then of course].
It was a match told by the stars 😉
1. Punk 57 by Penelope Douglas
2. Wait for You by Jennifer L. Armentrout ( Under her pen name J.Lynn)
3. The Deal by Elle Kennedy
4. Under Locke by Mariana Zapata
5. Until Friday Night by Abbi Glines
