Throw Back Thursday: Chpt 6

Once again, It’s time to dust some cobwebs and fall in love (possibly) all over again with books from our Past.

If you haven’t stumbled across my previous post on this tag, go over and take a look: Throw Back Thursday: Chpt 5

Just in case any of you are new, the rules are simple:

  • You haven’t read the book recently (has to have been at least 3 years and back)

Voila! Simple, right?

While you’re dusting the dust off those pages and reading the excerpt on the back, ask yourself the following:

  1. When did you read it?
  2. Do you think you would you read it again now?
  3. Did this book have any impact on what type of books you read today?

Bustles, Steampunk, a Flamboyant Vampire, a Scottish Werewolf and an Italian-English preternatural woman who is obsessed with tea and sweets! What more can you honestly ask for?

Soulless by Gail Carriger is a book that I hold very dear to me. It was a book given to me during a very hard time in my life by my then Principal. (Forever Grateful to you Annie)

The characters’ quirky personalities, the world building and the story were all beautifully written. It distracted me from everything that was going on at the time and inspired me to pick up a pen and write my own stories.

Alexandra was a strong female lead, determine to be herself despite what society told her. She accepted her shortcomings and was content with living out her life as a spinster.

And Lord Maccon…

I wanted (want) my own foul-mouthed Scottish werewolf.

Soulless is one of those books that I would read and re read and re re read again, never growing bored with it.

If you love steampunk, foul-mouthed werewolves, sassy vampire men, and a strong female lead, Look no further!
