Series I’d like to read in 2021

Hello hello bookworms!!

Nothing quite beats going into a bookstore and feeling the weight of books in your hands. Smelling the freshly made coffee in the air. Words cannot describe the utter elation I felt walking into Barnes and Nobles a few weeks ago after a whole year of not going anywhere.

While I got reacquainted with the rows and rows of beautiful books in the YA and Fantasy sections, I came to the realization that I hadn’t read many of the series my book friends love and that I never finished many series that I had started earlier in my twenties. And it just so happened that when I went home, I saw Lucy from Sun Star Books put up a post about what series she’d like to read! A sign?? Maybe!

Series I’d like to read in 2021

The Infernal Devices Series

The only book I’ve ever read from Cassandra Clare was City of Bones. It was one summer in middle school where I finally got a library card and went all out on how many books I could borrow. I didnt love it but I didn’t hate it either. As the years went by, I just never picked up another CC book again.
I’ve heard great things about this spin off from Cassandra Clare’s Mortal Instruments world. Coupled with the fact that they are centered around Steampunk + Victoria era, I might cave and read them.

The Malediction Series

We all know how much I loved Stolen Songbird. If you don’t then let me put it this way. If I hadn’t read that book way back when, I wouldn’t have picked up ACOTAR. Tristan was my Rhysand at the time. Despite loving the book, I never had a chance to pick up the rest of the series. I recently just finished reading Stolen Songbird again (review coming soon) so I might as well read the rest and see how the series ends!

The Dark Shores Series

Another more recent series from Danielle L Jensen, The Darkshores series. I’ve had this series on my TBR ever since The Bridge Kingdom came out. I’m not 100% sure what they are about yet but the cover has always interested me. Hopefully, I’ll pick it up sometime this year! 🙂

The Air Awakens Series

Another series that I started and never finished! I read Air Awakens shortly after Stolen Songbird and it’s another book that contributed to me picking up ACOTAR. Each time I re-read the first book, its like the first time all over again. This series is full of magic and brooding princes. (Can you tell I have a type?) I managed to read Fire Falling but for some reason didn’t pick up the next in the series. It’s my mission to finish this series this year so I can read the spin offs!

I did set a relatively small goal for reading this year, so hopefully I’ll have time to read all these amazing books! I’ve made a schedule showing by when I would like to be reading each one and hopefully having a visual time line will help me achieve my goal!
What are some series you want to read this year? Are any of the ones on this list on yours?
