Down the TBR Hole: Chapter 5

Happy Sunday fellow Bookworms!

Today’s post will be another TBR clean up.

I’ve put myself on a book ban for the months of May and June to entice myself to read the books I haven’t touched on my bookshelves; Not to mention, give myself some time to knock down the TBR list a little more. (I totally didn’t just add 7 more books…)

The book tag was originally created by Lia, formerly @ Lost in a Story.

For those of you who haven’t taken a look or participated, here’s the breakdown:

  • Go to your Goodreads to-read shelf.
  • Order on ascending date added.
  • Take the first 5 (or 10 if you’re feeling adventurous) books
  • Read the synopses of the books
  • Decide: keep it or should it go?

This is a process that we (I) will be doing every week meaning that we (I) have to keep track of where we (I) ended and where we (I) will move forward from. From what I’ve seen many book bloggers have chosen their own intervals but many have done it in intervals of 5. For example Week 1 we (I) will do book/s 1-5 on the TBR list. Then Week 2 will be 6-10 and so on.

This will continue until the whole TBR list is filtered through, leaving only the books you (I) actually plan to read.

  1. Defy Me by Sara B. Larson

I absolutely love gender-benders. It’s one of my weak spots (I’ve seen Ouran Highschool Host Club a thousand times). I’m definitely keeping this one.

2.Forsaken by Jana Oliver

I don’t think I’ll be keeping this one. I’ve read something like this before but can’t remember what it was called. Not to mention, I’m reading something like this right now, so I don’t think I will ever pick this book up.

3.For Darkness Shows the Stars by Diana Peterfreund

Ehh….Reading the premise, I can’t remember what lured me to place it in my TBR. The cover is very pretty but I don’t think that I would read it.

4. After the Woods by Kim Savage

I remember picking up this book in Borders (RIP) and being intrigued by the little summary on the back. It still seems interesting, and while I don’t necessarily do Thrillers…It might be worth a shot.

5. The Gathering by Kelley Armstrong

I’ve tried several books from Kelley Armstrong and have never managed to finish one. Maybe some day I will but right now, I don’t think it’s going to be this book.

Overall Verdict: 2/5 books will be kept0/5 possible rainy day3/5 books will be removed

How do you decide if a book stays or leaves your TBR list?
