Camp Nanowrimo: Check-In

On taking Camp Nanowrimo seriously…

Bookworms, I have reached 18,797 words!

I just have another 22,000 words to go! Initially, I went in with the hopes of getting 50,000 words down this month. And while from the looks of it, it’s possible, I decided to back off and focus on the first 20,000 words. While writing I noticed there were many things I needed to refine and organize as far as world-building and character-building. Things that are important for where I want the story to go. I don’t feel like I have a picture built yet and it’s 20,000 words in!

I updated my tracker to say 20,000 words as my goal for now. I will be making another tracker for the 30,000 words that are left since I’m splitting the task of writing into 2 separate parts.

July’s camp nanowrimo is looking like it’ll be hashing out the rest of what I don’t write this month and what I don’t write in May and June.

I’ve also set some time aside to draw some covers out. The title is still nowhere in sight but at this point, I think it’s because there isn’t a clear picture in my novel yet.

This week’s inspiration – Songs:

  • Save Me by Avenge Sevenfold
  • Unsainted by Slipknot
  • Lacrimosa by Mozart
  • Dwarven Stone upon Dwarven Stone by Adam Skorupa

Inspiration Boards:

If you would like to keep track of my progress, all the above will be in Ink & Paper. Not to mention, I will be posting regularly during the event on my progress and other inspirations such as songs, places, etc.

How’s your April’s Camp Nanowrimo going? Let me know in the comments below!

xoxoxo,

Jeimy
