Book Blogger Hop: September 13th – 19th

Hello bookworms! Happy Sunday!

I know I’ve been a little flaky these last couple of days. As moving day gets closer and my room is yet to be fully packed, I go into panic mode!

Today’s post is one I haven’t done in a while and want to get back into!

The Book Blogger Hop is a meme originally started by Jennifer @ Crazy-For-Books  and continued by

Today’s prompt was provided by Maria @ A Night’s Dream of Books.

This has happened to me many times back in the day. I do have to admit that in the last two years, I have not set foot in a library.

I’ve been borrowing my books online (Post coming soon on where I borrow my books online) or reading reviews and flat out buying them; which is very risky.

However, up to two years ago I was a frequent face in the local library. I would spend almost all my free time there, perusing through the shelves and seeing what new adventures I was going to go on. There is a sense of calm you can’t seem to find anywhere else when you’re in the library and the fact that there a seemingly endless possibilities…*sigh* it truly is a wonderful place.

Many of the books I own now were borrowed first from the library. I discovered Holly Black, Sarah J Maas, Danielle L Jensen, Jennifer L Armentrout, Amanda Hocking, Julie Kagawa, Penelope Douglas, Rosamund Hodge and quite a few other authors at the library. You can say that the library was what kept fueling my passion for reading all these years and is the reason why I’ve been obsessed with the Fae/Fairfolk for the last 6 years.

Some of the books that were borrowed turned to owning:

  • A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J Maas
  • The Trylle Series by Amanda Hocking
  • Tithe by Holly Black
  • Bully by Penelope Douglas
  • The Vampire Academy Series by Richelle Mead
  • The Immortal Rules by Julie Kagawa
  • The Iron King by Julie Kagawa
  • Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor
  • Wicked Lovely by Melissa Marr

There are so many more!

Have you ever had a borrowed book that you loved so much, you just had to buy it? Let me know in the comments below!

I borrowed They Both Die at the End from the library last year, and I think I devoured the book in one or two sittings. This year I bought my own copy, and now I’m eyeing off his other books!!
