I’m back from Hiatus!! These last two months have been the longest! Words cannot begin to describe how much I’ve missed the bookish community. How I’ve missed chatting with you all. I just hope that I won’t have to take another break like this last one in a very long time!
For those of you who have found my little corner of the internet, hello there! My name is Jeimy! Welcome to A Novel Idea, a place where I blog about Fantasy and new adult romance novels, writing and bullet journals. Not necessarily in that order 😉
I am a book loving web developer. I am Dominican and speak both Spanish and English fluently. You might find some blog posts written out in Spanish throughout the months coming up and a word or two thrown in others. I started blogging on February 2019 under the name of ReadWriteLive.Net, decided to move over to self hosted in January 2020 (which caused me to lose everything) and here I am now, continuing my blogging journey.
Now that we are acquainted, I hope that you find me interesting enough to stick around.
Post-Hiatus Plans for 2021
For this new year, I want to continue with my goal of writing more book reviews at a frequent pace. In the past, Book Reviews were rare which is a little silly for a bookish blog. So this year, I want to write at least 2 book reviews a month! I read frequently enough that it should be an achievable goal, right?
Another goal for A Novel Idea is like to collaborate with other book bloggers. These last year, due to the pandemic and other IRL issues, I fell out of touch with many of my bookish friends and the community. This year I want to rekindle those connections and forge new ones! I want to invite guests to A Novel Idea and have them share their love for Books, bujo and more!
Goal number 3 is to do a complete overhaul of the design for A Novel Idea. New Logo and new color schemes are coming your way! I had begun the process of rebranding A Novel Idea last year but due to creativity-slump, stopped half way. This year, I want to slowly bring A Novel Idea closer to the vision I have in mind for it!
Goal number 4 is to attempt to finally do that WordPress Template series I promised a while back before I went on Hiatus. My coding for book bloggers posts were a hit last year! It makes me really happy that some book bloggers have used it to elevate their posts/blogs. I plan to launch another series but this time helping everyone make their own template/edit their template.

Goal number 5 come out with more content that isn’t strictly book discussions or tags. Maybe I’ll do some recordings or videos. I’ve also thought about bookish photography!
Goal number 6 is two move over all the Book reviews to the Book Review page template. I recently found an Add On called Recencio Book Reviews. This add on allows you to format book reviews in a more efficient way! Not to mention, you can set up Index pages for you book review really easily!
I plan to have a quick review/how to on the add on once I figure out how to use it to it’s full potential!
Lastly, the final goal is to BE CONSISTENT! I want to have a set schedule this year, something I can stick to and gives me a time to have fun doing one of the things that I love to do.
