Hello lovely readers! I hope that you’ve had a great start to your new year! I’ve been a little MIA lately but I am back, ready to read, obsess over book characters and create with you all once again! It’s been 3 lovely years since I started this blog and while last year was probably my worst blogging year, I’m not ready to give this up. Thank you for sticking with me 🙂
For those of you who are new, Hello! My name is Jeimy. I’m 27 years old (almost 28) and I love to read. I’m an American born Dominican and work for a Software Company. When I’m not reading, you can find me coding, writing or drawing anime.
There will be some small changes to ANovelIdea.net this year. I will be adding a segment for my Language studies. Last year in August, I decided to learn Japanese and like many of the hobbies I pick up, I went and bought a plethora of resources. One thing I didn’t anticipate was having to build my own studying schedule and having to find additional resources. I think it’d be great to document my journey in language learning as a self-learner and hopefully offer some help/tips to those who want to venture into it.
Another small change will be the focus on the Writing section of my blog.
You have a writing section??
I know! I started the section about two? three years ago? during a NANOWRIMO event. The project has evolved since then and one of my goals this year is to finally get that draft done. So I will be participating in both NANOCAMPS this year and writing posts on my experience trying to get this book drafted. I’ve already started with the process of building out the story in my Novel Planner and I feel like it’s so much easier this time around.
Lastly, MORE REVIEWS! Last year I wrote only 3 reviews…..Trust me, I read way more than 3 books but I just couldn’t organize my thoughts well and to be frank, was hyper-fixated on the book that I did not give myself the time to stop and jot notes. I’ve been trying to do better this year and while I haven’t quite found a method that works for me and my very disorganized brain, I will keep trying. There will be more short reviews coupled together this year while I figure out a method.
Schedule wise, I think having 1 or 2 posts a month to ease back into things will be the plan for now. My life is a little more hectic with a new puppy and other hobbies taking up most of my time; all while balancing my mental health.
I hope you’ve all had amazing starts to the New Year!
